Ballater has a wide selection of restaurants and bars to choose from. Whether you would prefer a five course a la carte menu with fine wines or a fish supper from the local chip shop Ballater can accommodate.

Our favourite eating place is the Kildrummy Inn, near Kildrummy Castle, where you can have a a fantastic evening meal from a very varied menu at a reasonable price.  Sunday lunches are also excellent. The Green Inn - high quality food, expensive but worth the money...

The Darroch Learg - another high quality eating experience, although once again quite pricey.

La Mangiatioa - a fantastic Italian restaurant, not too bad on the pocket.

Station House - great if you're looking for a snack or mid-afternoon tea.

The Chipper - wonderful Scottish fish and chips, leaves some change in the pocket too!
